Raid Failure Notification

I'm setting up a new server with ES 3 which will go into a data-center. 
It has an adaptec raid controller with a hotplug raid 5 array attached. 
I've tested the failure mode and am happy with the results. I need to 
configure something so that root gets an email when a drive fails. It's 
using the dpt_i2o driver and I've heard that dptutils is the package 
written by adaptec to manage the array. Is dptutils hidden somewhere in 
RH 3 or is it missing. Is there another way to configure notification? 
Is there a proper way to get this dptutils if they are not in RH?
