Given that hardly anyone's configuration is going to exactly fit your
situation, I'd start with The Fine Manual:

As for mgetty+sendfax specifics, the horse's mouth is best:

All that said, be advised that RH 8.0 is well out of date. If you can
get hold of a later version (Fedora Core 3 is out), you really should
get and use it.
