mount windows shared dir

Hi,
I'm trying to mount a windows shared directory to FC2.
So far I've used 
mount -t smb //ipofwinmachine/shareddir /mnt/windows

it asks me for the windows password, but as soon as I
type the password in it gets stuck (cursor is
blinking). 
What am I doing wrong? Can someone help me out,
please.
