APC Backup

Sure. My ups.conf consists of:

[apcusb]
         driver = hidups
         port = /dev/usb/hid/hiddev0
         desc = "APC Backup-UPS"

The other files are more or less system-generic (e.g. acl's, stuff like
that).

I have the USB hid and input drivers loaded. I'm running kernel 2.4.29.
My installation is/was Red Hat 7.2 but I've manually updated mosted of
the packages.

Output of upsc looks like:

battery.charge: 100
battery.runtime: 600
battery.voltage: 13.4
driver.name: hidups
driver.parameter.port: /dev/usb/hid/hiddev0
driver.version: 2.0.0
ups.mfr: American Power Conversion
ups.model: Back-UPS 500 FW: 6.5.D USB FW: c1
ups.serial: JBxxxxxxxxx
ups.status: OL

I should note that I briefly messed around with the newhidups driver in
NUT 2.0.1 and wasn't able to get it working. Falling back on the "if it
ain't broke don't fix it" policy I'm sticking with hidups and NUT 2.0.0,
at least until I break down and install Fedora.

Hope this helps.
