  If there is an /etc/sysconfig/sendmail file, see what the QUEUE setting is.  Setting it to 

          QUEUE=5m 

  should set the queue scan interval to 5 minutes.  Then 

          /etc/init.d/sendmail restart 

  should restart the daemon with the new parameter.
