network speed query?

hiya,

I just upgraded some of my servers from 100mb ethernet to 1gb.  I did it 
"hot", just unplugged the slow and plugged in the fast.  it seems to 
have worked, but I'd like to verify.

did this autoconfig?  or do I have to do something?  is there somewhere 
I can verify the actual speed?
