Also be aware that Fedora Core 8 is dead.  VERY dead.  The current
Fedora release is Fedora 11.  Fedora Core 8 is no longer supported
(there are no updates, etc.)

I'd highly recommend you think about using Fedora 10 or Fedora 11, or
use the quasi-commercial CentOS 5.3 (which tracks Red Hat Enterprise
5.3 and is based on Fedora 8, but is still current and being updated).
