I recently transfered my RH 5.1 installation to a new (bigger) hdd. I
copied everything over to their appropriate mount
point/partitions/directories with a "cp -avx <source> <target> series of
commands.
I have it running fine now...to a point. Linux boots up fine. I can run
enlightenment and windowmaker without problems. KDE is another story but
I am trying to work that out in the kde-list. Anyway, I tried to print a
file this morning from kedit, the kde editor (didn't try from emacs but
expect the same result). It wouldn't print.
I have an Epson Color Stylus 600 and ghostscript 5.10 installed. I had
it setup to print at 360dpi from lp, 720dpi from lp0, and 1440dpi from
lp1 and it worked fine before the transfer to a new hdd.
I started control-panel and started the printer config tool (as su) and
tried to print the ascii test page. It failed. I CAN print ascii direct
to the port, however. The message I get when trying to print ANYTHING
other than ascii direct to port is this:
Error printing test page
Error reason: lpr:/usr/lib/rhs/rhs-printfilters://testpage.asc temp file
write error
lpr: /usr/lib/rhs/rhs-printfilters: empty input file
Child process exited abnormally
What does this mean? How do I go about fixing this?
Thanks for any aid,
patrick
