Re: Can't Run Top



If you connected to the Internet before you took
security precautions, you might be 'owned' by a cracker.

Try running /usr/bin/top explicitly, and try
$ which top        to see which if you're running the standard one.

Check your procps package (contains top) against your install CD.
Change "/cdrom", below,  to the directory where you mount the CD:

# /cdrom/misc/src/trees/rescue/bin/rpm  -Vp  /cdrom/RedHat/RPMS/procps*.rpm

That was one line, but might have gotten wrapped...
In the same way, verify the procps, fileutils, rpm and bash packages.
If it says any executables have changed, you have problems.
