An initial accelerated server supporting the new SiS chipsets (5597/5598
and 6326) is available as part of XFree86-3.3.3.

I downloaded the glibc .tgz 3.3.3 files from www.xfree86.org, and
followed the directions.  However, I could not get the VGA16 server
working; I just got a screen with course vertical lines, then a grey
screen with a black band on the left side, and no other activity.  I was
able to kill it with Ctrl-Alt-Backspace.  Similar results when I tried
with XF86Setup.  Yes, the link to X was correct.

Has anyone had any luck with the Diamond Speedstar A50?

I will try the RPMs and see what happens.  Please reply to both of my
email addresses as well as to the list.  This is urgent for me, as we
have two laboratories with these machines, and we are in trouble without
them working.
