pop3 connection refused

Every few days POP3 on my RH5.0 stops fuctioning. Clients get 'connection refused' until I reboot the system. There is no regularity. Sometimes it
will go a week, without problems, sometimes it fails twice in one day.

I'm running ipop3d v. 4.47 with inetd.

Ideas?
