NIS+ isn't supported on Red Hat.
Nobody "needs" NIS+. Even Sun Microsystems who developed NIS+ still uses
NIS, and Sun is a lot bigger than your group/college I suspect.
As someone who has had to help support NIS+, stay away at all costs.
