Hi all.
I'm having a problem. I have my RH 5.2 linux box setup on a TCP/IP
network with a Windows 98 machine. The Linux box is set as static IP
"192.168.0.3" with netmask "255.255.255.0". The Win98 machine is set
as static IP "192.168.0.2" and netmask of "255.255.255.0". The Linux
box and Win98 box can see each other just fine over TCP/IP. (Pinging
back & forth works, HTTPD on Linux works, FTP server on Linux works
etc.) I can dial into the Internet from the Windows 98 machine and it
will connect and work perfectly. I can be on the Internet on the
Windows 98 machine and communicate with the Linux box over TCP/IP no
problem. The problem occurs when I try to connect to the Internet
with the Linux machine instead. My modem just repeatedly dials,
connects, waits a few seconds and hangs up and tries again. It never
seems to be able to establish a proper connection. Any ideas what's
going on? I'm lost as to this one.
Rick
