My thanks on helping me get PPP working. [was Re: Edit rc.local for setserial?]

I want to thank Marco Shaw, Gavin Cato, Jan Carlson and everyone else
that has responded, for helping me get my PPP working under Linux.

It turned out that I needed to configure the IRQ on serial port cua2
from IRQ 4 to IRQ 5. This I did (from Gavin's answer of where insert the
line):

     /bin/setserial cua2 irq 5

in the file /etc/rc.rc/rc.local

Then I followed Jan Carlson's posts of 'Internet Connections Made Easy',
went without a hitch and got connected about midnight my time.

Now to get Adobe PhotoDeluxe working under Linux with the ALPS MD-1000
Color printer, Need to check WINE and Adobe sites. Thats for next week.

Now I have another question, how can I get the usernet to connect
faster. (It connects slower then under Trumpet) And Netscape 3.04 tales
longer to load then under WIN. BUT, after everything connects, the
system cruises along faster then under DOS6.22/WIN3.11.

Any ideas, other then upgrade modem from the 14.4 (Shirley say's I can
have a 56k external for my birthday (2 months away.)) And upgrade from
the 486DX4-100, that's in the works (talking to a local computer store
to 'take' old upgrade pentium I boards w/CPU off his hands cheap, beer
money).

Thanks again

Chuck
