RE: how to allow root for telnet



As much as I agree with everyone about not allowing root to telnet in, that's
not what he asked.
look in the /etc/securetty file, it has a list of "trusted" TTY's, that will
let root login remotely.  add a TTY, usually ttyp0? and that TTY will be able
to login.easy way to tell is to do a ps while logged in remotly, see what TTY
you are on.  I usually add 10 or so.
