hello I have an HP E50 with an adaptec scsi 4.2 gb drive using the aha
2940UW controllers

I am installing rh 5.1 and I was able to create my filesystems, choose
which servers to install and even format my swap space. It then hangs
when creating the next partitions. It essentially times out and resets
the scsi bus.

According to red hat hte aha-294uw is supported.

Please let me know what needs to be done to solve this
