1) don't know - sorry.  I would guess as long as you can burn the
capitalization (see 2 below) it should work even if the rpm names
themselves get mangled.

2) I've yet to install 5.1 (still using 5.0 until my CDs arrive in the
mail), but your problem may be caused by case sensitivity.  If I remember
rightly, the redhat installation looks specifically for a directory named
RedHat.  If it's redhat or REDHAT it's just not recognized.  

Note to redhat guys - perhaps this could be made less restrictive in the
future?  this seems to be the main stumbling block in burning your own CD
to install from.  at least two of the guys I work with burnt cd's which
then didnt' work because of this same problem and they ended up having to
copy all the rpms onto a dos partition to then install from.


a collegue of mine orders redhat software in england through a reseller
and gets it quicker (last order was received TWO DAYS after he placed the
order) than I do here in the US.
