I had a similiar problem with mine... my initial problem was the SCSI
ID I gad the device set to... I believe it has to be 0 but there are
some doc's on Red Hat's site which will tell you for sure.
The next thing was that I had to install a different driver (it
worked before that but there were intermittent SCSI timeouts.
The driver's can be found on the net (I don't recall the URL).
