Just install all the 2.0.35 rpm's from RedHat updates.
I didn't need to compile, and it runs fine.

        . rpm -iv kernel-2.0.35-2.i386.rpm
. make a new initrd for the new kernel, since my lilo.conf
          was using initrd
                      - see 'man mkinitrd'
        . run depmod in /lib/modules/2.0.35-2 ,
          to create modules.dep there
                      - see 'man depmod'
. edit /etc/lilo.conf for new kernel and initrd.
        . run lilo, reboot
