CD recorder

I was just wandering if anyone has set up there cd recorder on linux if so
how hard or easy. Here is my  specs
Ricoh  MP6200A  x2/x6  ATAPI

I have read this article about atapi(scsi emulation)

It says about how to set up  ATAPI(SCSI emulation). Has anyone done this.
By the way i am hopefully going to be using a Zip drive on my AHA2920 drive
which the above article says it is possible.
