Of course, right after I posted this, I stumbled on cfdisk which finally
seemed to work after I fixed some bad blocks and played with system
configuration tools in Xwindonws (also took care of my pesky screen redraw
problem -- it is much nicer with Xwindows configured). I've got /dev/hdb5
as a 120 MB swap partition and /dev/hdb6 as a 200 MB ex2 partition mounted
at /usr/local. Now I need to find the information to transfer my /usr/local
from hda5 to hdb6 and the best way to go about transferring root to
/dev/hda1 ....
