Why not to take the source of wget and to compile it under Solaris? It's
pretty easy. By the way Red Hat users are rather often blamed for
violating one of the most inportant UNIX rules: compiling everything by
hands on your own computer. Frankly speaking I'm much more pragmatic and
see no sense in wasting hours compiling sources when I can just take the
binaries. But sometimes I am very surprised at some guys questions like
"where to get the kernel for my configuration in the rpm format" or "how
to install Netscape which is not available as rpm".

RPM is only one little part of life. Yes, it's very useful and convenient,
but I don't think one should give up if something is not available as rpm,
just compile it by hands. This is the real advantage of UNIX over M$: you
always know what is going on inside of your computer! You have the full
control over it, not M$!

long live rpm, if not - well, long live sources! :-)
