:-))) 
Sure you're right about impossibility to compile the kernel in
commercial Unixes. I'm just so used to Linux, that I extrapolate
everything I like in it to other Unixies. But at least you can compile
lots of free applications. :-) 

Besides, if we have a lucky opportunity to compile the kernel for Linux,
why not to use it? :-)
