Excuse me, but why are you trying to limit the capability of a PostScript
printer? Unlike HP-PCL, which does have margins because it will print raw
text, PostScript isn't like that. "Margins" are part of the formatted
PostScript document, not forced into the printer. Postscript is basically
able to print in any location, on or off the paper. Of course, if you
print off the paper you won't be able to see it :-)
The only thing that the printer has that will affect PostScript output is
the "printable area," which is about .2" from each edge. The printer just
can't place ink into that outside strip.
So, please explain what you are up to.
