RE: Linux web-related books

Matt Welsh and Lar Kaufman "Running Linux" comes highly recommended.  It's
an O'Reilly book.  The only drawback is that it is a 1996 edition, but the
information is still valid.  A little out of date in some areas.  The person
who recommended this book to me said to start up Linux, stay away from other
operating systems, and go through the book, one page at a time, fully
immersing yourself in it.  Don't skip around, and soon you will have a very
good handle on the whole thing, and can then bring yourself up to date with
the current books that are more specific and detailed.

I'm in somewhat the same position - not *quite* as much of a novice, 
I'm finding the QUE Using Linux 3rd Edition to be fairly useful.
The O'Reilly general Linux book doesn't help matters as much; you might
find that their more specific books are useful. I kind of like the 
Network Admin book they produce.
