Hehe, I hate to tell you but you just sent 2 replies direct to me instead
of the mail list :-)

I am no programmer so can't really help, but what about redirecting all
ping requests only to a PC with duplicate IPs?  All other traffic would
still go to the real IPs.

Or, block pings totally as a "security measure".  Try pinging
ftp.redhat.com or even microsoft.com and you don't get a reply at all, so
if they can get away with it...

We were recently subject to a smurf attack, thats a pretty good reason to
block pings in my opinion.
