ok last message was kinda vague i guess...i'm running redhat 5.0...i boot to x, and the system recognizes my ethernet card...my problem is i cannot connect to the network provided through the use of a cable modem cuz i am not sure of all the settings in network configuration. My isp was of no help cuz they dont support linux...so now my question is how should i set up the network setting for use with a cable modem? What are the settings?
Try this FAQ: http://rlz.ne.mediaone.net/linux/index.html
It's for MediaOne, but the general issues addressed should still apply.
