The Netscape release notes clearly state that "libc5 plugins will
not work with the glibc Netscape". That's also my experience,
although I didn't try 4.06 (which has the same statement in the
release notes). For this reason I've made RPM's for the libc5
version of Netscape.
I've sent a message to Adobe asking for a glibc-version of acroread,
but I got some reply (automatically generated?) that didn't make
clear whether my request will ever by read by a human person.
I invite everyone to ask Adobe for a glibc plugin.
