Actually, ppp 2.3.5 provides demand dialing when used with 2.1.x.  I'm
currently running 2.1.115 with an uptime of 21+ days.  I consider this
to be one of the most stable of the development kernels.  I think people
will be quite pleased when 2.2 comes out.
