I think you need to d/l the updates too:
there's an update corcening glint, I think with a fix for your problem,
but also all the other updates are useful...

when I was fresh installing rh 5.1 from download I've got a couple
of problems with the stock redhat kernel 2.0.34 until I fixed all
downloading and istalling all the updates.
