I'm using majordomo with 5.1 on a few small lists (but now using vmailer
and not sendmail) it runs fine. You'll need to have a lot of messages
before your linux box gets bogged down, the only thing slowing it down
beging the number of concurrent deliveries that your MTA can send at once
(and which your box can support).

The linux-kernel list @vger.rutgers.edu uses majordomo, though I think they
have a few "tweaks" to make it run better (I distribute the messages
through various exploders), and besides this site hosts about 30 lists, some
of which also have a large subscriber base.

Hope this helps.
