Re: How do you set up for a Syquest sq555 (44 MBytes) ?

When you boot up the machine, long before lilo or
linux start, you should see messages from your scsi
controler listing the scsi devices it found.
In those messages does your scsi controler see the Syquest?

If no,
you may have the Syquest using the same scsi id as the disk,
the cable may be bad or you could have improper termination.
If yes,
Try using linux fdisk on /dev/sda and /dev/sdb.
/dev/sda is for the lowest scsi id device.
/dev/sdb is for the next lowest...
Does fdisk display something reasonable on the Syquest?

If no,
the syquest may not have a partition table, as a floppy does not.
If yes,
It should work if you have a correct entry in /etc/fstab.

What Linux version and kernel version are you running?
What are the scsi id's of the hd and Syquest?
What entries for the hd and Syquest do you have in /etc/fstab?
