Generally a correction of the "alias scsi_hostadapter" line in the file
/etc/conf.modules should suffice (replace "aha1542" by "aic7xxx"), but beware of
the AIC7xxx driver...

All this is only valid for a "normal" kernel configuration with the SCSI drivers
in the ramdisk /boot/initrd.

Be warned, that is the theory, I never did this myself, because I use custom
kernels in which drivers for both hostadapters can be included simultaneously.
