Hi everyone. This is my first posting and I'm here because I have a problem
(of course).
I'm trying to switch from Slackware to Redhat (please no comments about
which is better, I'll make my own mind up). Anyway I'm trying to install via
FTP. I have a working system under my present setup using a Western Digital
SMC 8003 ethernet card.
When I try to install RedHat I can't get it to detect the card. I know the
parameters and I've read the doc. I've tried entering the parameters every
which way I could possibly think of to get the damn thing to find the card.
The card IS supported and it runs fine with the present kernel I have built for it.
Help! Can someone please tell me _exactly_ what I have to type at the
"Optional parameters" box to get this to work. Presently I'm passing the
following through lilo.conf
append="ether=7,0x240,0xd0000,eth0"
Or can someone tellme how I can build a new redhat bootdisk with my current
kernel or just give me a clue how to do this?
TIA
Rich
