Mounting CDROM in X

Hi all,

Can mount cdrom (scsi) from command line but can't do same from xterm or
filesystem utility within X.  Utility shows which disks or mounted and not
mounted but says files system already mounted or in use when I try to change.
Can't find doco that gives this sort of info about X.
