PPP Script Problem

I just got done configuring ppp for dialing with the ppp-on script w/
ppp-on-dial. I make them executable and then changed the permissions so
that any user can dial and then use ppp-off when their done, but when I
type:

ppp-on

I get an error from bash saying 'command not found'. Does anyone know
why this might be happening? Is there something else I should be typing
to get the script to execute? I just tried to execute the
'install-gnome' script on the RH 5.2 CD and that didn't work either. I
don't know what to do.
