Yes I meant to imply that that was probably the case unless he in or
whatever--I don't know what he's paying or where he's buying. YMMV. This
is based on my desire to build a system and deciding, upon pricing
individual components, that it wasn't cheaper--especially not if I included
my time. Big names like Dell, Compaq, IBM, HP, ... all advertise prices
for complete systems which are less than the aggregate prices I would pay
for the individual parts, even including the fact that I would save a
little by using Linux and not including other frivolous bells. Of course,
there are other reasons to build your own ...
My suggestion to get a tape drive was also based on personal experience :)
