BOTTOM LINE: Is there a manual way to turn on DHCP and turn it off EVERY
TIME? I have heard there is, and Red Hat Linux Unleashed offers the
following:

"/usr/sbin/dhcpcd"

to get offline,

"/usr/sbin/dhcpcd -k"

1) This sounds great but it doesn't work. I couldn't even find my dhcpcd
file. There is a "/etc/dhcpc" directory, but it does not have a dhcpcd
file in it or anything resembling it. I did a "find search under root
and could not locate a dhcpcd file. Is that the problem. But if so, then
how could I be online?

2) Is there a manual way of turning 3Com's Ethernet on and off? If so,
what is that magic "open sesame" word? If you know it, you will do me
and an awful lot of other frustrated 3c905B users very happy indeed.

Thank you so much.
