That may be so, but I never did get SMB installation to work. I sent in my
installation information to Red Hat's 30-day installation support, and
after a few go arounds (during the first time, they tried to tell me in
effect that SMB installation wasn't supported) they've since ignored my
requests for resolution of the problem.

Since I'm the NT SysAdmin, I'm pretty confident that I had the correct
settings and registry entries to allow permission. I since solved the
problem by installing a CD into the system in question, but I think this
list is far more valuable and responsive than Red Hat's tech support.

I'm guessing that with my fast connection (T1), I'm better off rsynching
the installation directories off a mirror onto a partition and installing
from there. My question is, assuming rsynch works, where else can I put the
installation directory? It seems to want a \RedHat directory but my \
partition is only 500 MB; I have more space on \home. Would inode mapping
work?

Thanks for any responses,
