wget not reading line feeds

Hi.

It seems that wget doesn't read (or save) line feeds when used as an ftp
client to pull down ascii files.

Woe is me... Now I have a bunch of records read over the past month that
don't have line feeds (yeah I shoulda checked better...).

Does anyone know how to make wget recognize, read and save linefeeds
correctly?

Can't find the info in the man...
