Programatically ftp'ing ascii record files

Hi.

(see subject) A month ago someone convinced me that wget was the way to
go...

So I set up a script and put wget to work...

Turns out wget doesn't read cr lf's cuz it grabs data in binary format
(I always use bin and I've never seen this problem before...)...

Anyway - what is the best way to automatically ftp ascii record files
(and read the damn cr lf properly?)
