Hello Folks:
I've seen this question asked on several different lists and sources, but
have yet to find a complete answer to it. Using Red Hat 5.2 and a cable
modem, DHCP works just fine. I know that the script was calling DHCPD to
grab all of the networking information I needed for my system, IE. Hostname,
IP Address, DNS, etc. I also know that this has changed with 6.0. I'm
aware that now, the script is calling pump, even though I selected DHCP in
the install. This is not a problem, but pump is only getting my IP Address.
/etc/resolv.conf is being left blank, as well of the information in
/etc/sysconfig/network. I read the man page for the package, but it doesn't
mention how to set it up so that you tell pump to get all of the
information.
Is pump designed to only get the IP address, or is something else happening
here that is causing the other files (resolv.conf, etc.) to not be
populated? I am running version pump-0.6.4-1 as was released by Red Hat in
their 6.0 distribution.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
- Mike
