Ping duplicates

Hello,
I am working on setting up my interneet conneection on my home network. I
have one machine on a cable modem that is my gateway. The machine that I am
trying to learn linux on has a prive IP address of 192.168.0.13. The
gateway to the machine with the cable modem is 192.168.0.1 on the private
network and then I have program (its a Nt machine) to route me to the
internet. Ok now here is the question : i tried to test my internet
conneection by pinging the gateways real IP and not the private one, it
works but I got duplicates. Here is what i got:

PING 24.131.32.139 (24.131.32.139): 56 data bytes

64 bytes from 24.131.32.139: icmp_seq=5 ttl=62 time=45.4 ms (DUP!)

--- 24.131.32.139 ping statistics ---
6 packets transmitted, 6 packets received, +6 duplicates, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 0.3/10.1/45.4 ms

Any suggestions? Ohh yeah I am using ehternet cards for the network and
they all appear to be working.
	thanks,
	erik
