you can do this as easily as you can with windoze.  From X-windows go to 
the network configuration under programs, administration.  Simply add a 
new PPP0 device and nameserver IP then save the configuration.  highlight 
the PPP0 and click on activate.  you can then minimize the network 
confirurator and start netscape.  you must be root to do this.
