All well and good but come on now, Richard. The purpose of this list
is
discussions regarding Red Hat Linux -- period. We are all here
courtesy
of RH. What next Mac questions? If Bing can relate his win problem
to
linux somehow, then OK. Discussions sometimes drift elsewhere, but
generally they all start with some connection to linux and/or RH. I
don't think its worth blowing a gasket over, but this is not the
right
place to ask such questions.
I absolutely agree with you. The question he had, needed to be asked
somewhere else. But, as he said in his original post, he didn't know where
else to ask it. And for the most part, the answers he got were
tongue-in-cheek quips ("format c:"). It just seems to me that he could've
(and should've) been directed to a specific newsgroup, mailing, list,
website, etc. where his question could be answered.
Now, there may have been a few answers that did just that. I honestly don't
remember offhand. And there's nothing wrong with the joking remarks either.
I love jokes at Micro$oft'$ expense. I just think that the original post
could've been dealt with a bit better. That's all.
