  Well yes and no.  Yes it was if you expected it to have an
salubrious effect upon the moral fibre of the unwashed character
known as MacCraw.  His aggressiveness is open, his mind is closed and
he's missed the cluetrain.  His attempts at defense only befoul the
mail list further.

  However, it was not a waste of time in that it was an attempt to
protect the overall atmosphere of the mail list.  Personally, I'm not
the slightest prudish nor am I shocked by the use of foul language; I
doubt that there are many who are.  However, the list best serves its
purpose when it is a friendly, welcoming and open place, and is a
pleasure to participate in.  Thus a zero tolerance policy for
locker-room language and personal attacks is a valuable succor of the
atmosphere that I believe most would like to engender.
