Now that I have your attention :)
I posted something a couple of days ago regarding sticky windows and other
such things but no one replied.. it was just before the whole win95lamer
episode so I dunno if it got lost in the mail.
I've got an eterm checking my /var/log/messages when I load startx via
.xinitrc. The problem is that the window isn't sticky (visible on all
virtual desktops) by default.. is there a command line option I can use like
Eterm -makesticky or something like that which will cause it to stay on all
desktops??
Someone said that having syslogd send authlog messages to the Eterm ttyp
number would be better than having the terminal tail files.. The main
advantage I can see is that the Eterm doesn't have to be SU'd to root in
order to view the files in /var/log. Anycase, the Eterm ttyp number changes
depending on what order other terminals are opened up in (??), if I have a
couple of telnet sessions to the box from another machine then startx
locally I get a different xterm ttyp number, so is there a way to say, have
syslog send messages to ttyp99 or something like that and have the Eterm
always ttyp99..
yah, nah, maybe?? :)
The other thing I asked about was a small window that appears when I
minimise any window in enlightenment - seems to do the same thing as the
gnome pager - i.e places a little icon of the running program in it. I would
much prefer to have these icons thrown on the desktop though. I'm running
DR16
So.. if anyone can give me some information that would be great!
Thanks..
Adrian
