HP Netraid... or booting to Hardware raid...

I am pretty new to linux and have setup a couple of HP Netserver LXPros with
Netraid Cards (AMI MegaRAID)... one of which has the system drives hanging
off the adaptec chipsets on the motherboard and the other server has the
system drives on Channel 0 of the NetRaid Card.
The configuration with the system drives on the hardware raid requires me to
boot with a startup disk I assume because there are no drives controlled by
the bios... the other boots fine.
My first question is:
Should I be able to boot to the Netraid card or must I allow the bios to
control the boot drive?
Also I'm having trouble finding the Data Set on the 2nd Channel of the Card.
I'm just wondering if anyone has had any experience with AMImegaRAID or
HPNetRaid and Redhat...
Thanks for any input...
