Yeah.. I have another set up with the system drives on the channel0 of the
netraid. The 6.0 install (server default) found it... but it just won't boot
without the floppy... (it sees the drives fine). It doesn't get stuck at LI
either. It simply says 'Insert Bootable Medium' then boots from floppy when
I push it in.
Hmmm....

Nope. I've had good success with Intel N440BX motherboards with AMI
megaRAID 762's installed. You need to make sure your installation
boot disk has a kernel that will recognize the MEGARAID card. I found
that I had to select an 'expert' install and specifically ask for the
MegaRAID driver in order to get thigns working, but once I got past
that hurdle everything has been fine.
This is using Red Hat 5.2 with AMI provided boot disks. They can be
found on the AMI website (www.ami.com). I believe Red Hat 6.0 install
boot disks have AMI support already.
