hi there
I'm trying to setup some sys monitoring using rstatd and perfmon or xmeter..
The thing is that my /var/log/messages is about 88meg saying:
[root merlin /etc]# tail -f /var/log/messages
Aug 5 13:25:51 merlin portmap[1243]: connect from [hidden]to
getport(rstatd): request from unauthorized host
Aug 5 13:25:51 merlin portmap[1244]: connect from [hidden]to
getport(rstatd): request from unauthorized host
Aug 5 13:25:52 merlin portmap[1245]: connect from [hidden]to
getport(rstatd): request from unauthorized host
Aug 5 13:25:52 merlin portmap[1246]: connect from [hidden]to
getport(rstatd): request from unauthorized host
Aug 5 13:25:53 merlin portmap[1247]: connect from [hidden]to
getport(rstatd): request from unauthorized host
Aug 5 13:25:53 merlin portmap[1248]: connect from [hidden]to
getport(rstatd): request from unauthorized host
Aug 5 13:25:54 merlin portmap[1249]: connect from [hidden]to
getport(rstatd): request from unauthorized host
Aug 5 13:25:54 merlin portmap[1250]: connect from [hidden]to
getport(rstatd): request from unauthorized host
Aug 5 13:25:55 merlin portmap[1251]: connect from [hidden]to
getport(rstatd): request from unauthorized host
Aug 5 13:25:55 merlin portmap[1252]: connect from [hidden]to
getport(rstatd): request from unauthorized host
[root merlin /etc]#
Sooo... these messages are appearing pretty quickly as you can see. The box
that is trying to query the host is a solaris system using xmeter. Any ideas
how to make it authorised :)
Regards,
adrian
